Peregrine – Privacy Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not download, install, or use the Software.

Kestrel Innovations (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Peregrine mobile application (the “Service”).

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect, store, or process personal data on our own servers.

However, the app interacts with third-party services and device features that may handle limited information as described below.

2. Authentication and Account Information

Peregrine allows users to log in using their Particle account.

  • Login credentials (such as username and password) are entered by the user and transmitted directly to Particle via its API.
  • We do not store or have access to user credentials.

An authentication token provided by Particle may be stored securely on the device to maintain login sessions.

3. Device and Network Information

The app may process limited technical information necessary for operation, including:

  • Network connectivity status
  • IP-based connectivity checks (e.g., pinging a public DNS server such as 8.8.8.8)

This information is used solely to determine whether the device has internet access and is not stored or transmitted to our servers.

4. Data Storage

  • We do not store user data on external servers.
  • Authentication tokens are stored locally on the device and are not shared by us.

5. Third-Party Services

Peregrine depends on third-party services for core functionality, including:

  • Particle (device communication and authentication)
  • Google (Android system services, if applicable)
  • Apple (iOS system services, if applicable)

These services may collect and process data such as device information, network requests, and authentication data. We do not control how these third parties handle data.

6. How Information Is Used

Any information processed through the app is used strictly to:

  • Authenticate users via Particle
  • Enable communication with connected devices
  • Verify internet connectivity

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data.

All data handling is limited to what is required by third-party services to provide core functionality.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to ensure the app operates securely. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children’s Privacy

Peregrine is not intended for children under the age of 13.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data.

Since we do not store user data, requests related to personal data should be directed to the relevant third-party provider (such as Particle).

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted with a revised effective date.
